Collecting wise it’s always been Vinyl for me, and always original pressings. Not because of audio quality or any shit like that (any record worth listening to should be beat up to shit by the time it reaches me), but it means a lot to me to hold a real tangible artifact in my hands of an era I wasn’t around for.
I’ve recently expanded my collecting into Dead Kennedys (previously it was solely Psycho/Neo or Melbourne underground), and it’s really important to me to have Australian pressings on Missing Link… I hold those records and imagine some disaffected angry teenager (like I was) excitedly purchasing a life changing album in the exact same store (Missing Link) that I shopped in as a kid.
So CD’s from the 90’s that didn’t come out on Vinyl are just as important to me.
All these modern represses can get fucked
